It's not often that an experience leaves such a lasting impact, and I thank you for this opportunity. I would love every mother to experience the new 'tradition' of women-centred care. It's a practice which should be prioritised and protected in our society for the benefit of the women, their children and extended families. As they say, a happy mum is a happy child / family! Emma |

For Mothers of New BabiesA safe space to debriefWhether this is your first, second, or subsequent baby, the time around a birth involves a time of upheaval for most of us. If you would welcome some time, in a safe space, to explore your feelings; a chance to debrief or an opportunity to make deeper connections with mothers of young children, these Growth and Support Groups are for you. These are not just tea and chat groups. You will be encouraged, though sharing and simple activities, to get in touch with what is happening to you – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. You will not be judged or given advice. Our aim is to help each woman to find her own wisdom, in her own way. Groups are for mothers with their new babies. Each group runs for 6 sessions. Group size is limited to between 6-10 mothers. The sessions are on Thursday mornings on Brisbane's north side in a lovely comfortable venue. Your facilitators are Jane Campbell-Kaye and Suzanne Lister. Both Jane and Suzanne are Gestalt Therapists and they're both mothers. They are delighted to offer you support as you make this transition to parenthood. We call the groups TRANSITIONS. Our next group is due to start in October 2010. Medicare rebates may apply if referred by a GP under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative.
